Africa’s developer community is growing fast and not just in numbers, but also in ambition. From local fintech experiments to open-source contributions, there’s a desire for knowledge, tools, and opportunities to build with intention. That’s why this July, Bitnob is heading to Uganda.
We’re hosting a 4-day Developers Bootcamp and Hackathon in Uganda, which is designed to equip developers, software engineers, product minds, and startup founders with practical skills in Bitcoin development, Wallet architecture, and Bitnob API implementation.
Supported by Tether, this is more than just another tech event. It’s a chance to learn, collaborate, and launch ideas that could shape the future of financial technology on the continent.
The East African tech scene is developing at a fast rate, and Uganda stands out as one of the region’s most exciting hubs for emerging talent, brimming with young, brilliant developers and product thinkers eager to shape what’s next.
This isn’t just a learning opportunity; it’s part of a broader, intentional commitment to support Africa’s developer ecosystem and fuel local innovation through hands-on education in Bitcoin development and Bitnob’s API technology.
The first half of the event (July 22–23) will be focused on hands-on technical training, where participants will:
The bootcamp will host 150 participants on-site in Uganda, with additional attendees joining virtually from across the continent.
From July 24 to 25, the bootcamp will shift into a two-day hackathon, where participants will collaborate in teams to develop and showcase functional projects.

To join the bootcamp, simply apply online. As part of the registration process, participants will take a short quiz that is designed to assess basic knowledge and secure serious interest. Participants can choose to attend in person in Uganda or join online via livestream.
